ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
The book is the result of survey of Uttarakhand’s traditions and practices by a senior and experienced official Shri Panna Lal in 1920. Prakash Thapliyal, a journalist and writer has translated this book ‘Customary Law in Kumaon’ in hindi. He has translated number of English books on Uttarakhand, including ‘Himalayan Gazetteer’ by ET Atkinson, ‘Gazetteer of Dehradun‘ and ‘Gazetteer of Garhwal Himalaya‘ both by H.G Walton, ‘Man Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag’ by Jim Corbett and Oscar Wilde’s famous stories in hindi.
