He was the first Vice-Chancellor of Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University Badshahithaul Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
Dr. V. P. Semwal: Having a teaching experience of more than 10 years in Graduate and Post Graduate classes, he has been working for the past fifteen years on Stream and River Ecology in Himalayan and Mountain Environment, Distribution Patterns of Benthic Community, Water Quality Monitoring, and Conservation of Aquatic Biodiversity in Garhwal Himalaya. He has published over two dozen research papers on various aspects.
