About the author:
Born on 10th may 1931 in Gaurikot village of Pauri Garhwal, Bhagwati Nautiyal, did his graduation and masters from Delhi University and B. Ed and B. Lib from Punjab University. He has worked a lot on the Garhwali language and its origin along with understanding of the Garhwali culture.

He also helped in creating the only Garhwali- Hindi – English dictionary. He has been honored by the state government and various organizations and groups for his work on Uttarakhand.
