From the pact of Singoli in December 1815 which resulted in division of Garhwal, the Coolie Baigaar Movement in earlier years of 20th century to the impact of Gandhism on masses in 1930s and 1940s has been covered in the book.
The work is mainly focused on Garhwal region, but to understand the situation in Garhwal the impact of events occurring in Kumaon are also described, simultaneously. The socio-economic and political events in Garhwal are tried to be look from the viewpoint of Indian freedom struggle. Through his work, Dr. Dhasmana put an effort to give importance to regional historian Maularam (1743-1833) also.

The journalist and freelance writer for Dainik Jaagran, Navbharat Times, Dainik Hindustan and others, Dr. Yogesh Dhasmana was born on July 18, 1961 in Pauri garhwal. He has completed his M.A, D. Phil in History and P.G Diploma in Journalism from H.N.B.U Garhwal University and neurological certificate course from Gurukul Kangdi University, Haridwar.
He is also a member of PAHAD, Uttar Pradesh History Congress and Bhartiya Itihaas Congress.
