Virendera Panwar was born in the Pauri district of Uttarakhand in 1962. He has written numerous poems and folksongs that depict the Garhwali culture and traditions. His works are well-known for eloquent use metaphors and figure of speech to enlighten the readers. Many times, Panwar uses Garhwali proverbs for making poems easily understandable.
