Sir G.A. Grierson (George Abraham Grierson) was an Irish linguistic scholar who had conducted the Linguistic Survey of India between 1898 to 1928. His survey has collected information of 364 languages and dialects of India. He was a Civil Servant and worked at the post of Superintendent of Linguistic Survey of India. He had published various work on dialects, Hindi literature, Bhakti and on linguistics.
